Leaders in Transition

Fiduciary Duty & Transition Governance for Institutional Capital (SDG 16 & 17)

This theme directly confronts one of the largest systemic blockages to transition finance: the perceived conflict between fiduciary duty and investment in long-term, complex transitions.

This theme will explore (1) how to reframe fiduciary duty to include managing systemic transition risk, and (2) how MDBs can use de-risking tools to create investment structures that satisfy the governance and accountability requirements of these fiduciaries, thereby unlocking capital at scale.

Humans at Work

The Geopolitics of Just Transitions and Impacts on Job Growth and Quality Across Critical Materials Supply Chains (SDG 3, 8, 17)

This theme confronts the material human impact risks embedded in the physical execution of transition plans, set against a backdrop of geopolitical competition.

The scramble for transition-critical materials creates a "race to the bottom," risking a trade-off where carbon is reduced at the expense of job quality and community health.

This theme convenes key stakeholders to de-risk supply chains not only from a trade perspective, but from a human capital one, ensuring the transition is truly "just" and resilient.

One Health Outcomes

Valuing Health in Ecosystem Impacts and Co-Benefits of SDG-aligned Transition (SDG 3, 2, 15)

Corporate transitions are typically assessed through carbon emissions and social impacts, while effects on human and ecosystem health remain largely unmeasured.

This theme focuses on identifying and assessing health-related co-benefits of the transition - such as reduced respiratory disease due to clean energy or improved nutrition from regenerative agriculture - and how health outcomes can be credibly defined, measured, and integrated into transition decision-making.

Collaborating in the Decisive Decade

The Mastering Catalytic, Human-Centred, and Cross-Sector Methods for Agile Sustainable Development (SDG 17)

This theme is a self-reflective, methodological project focused on how Greenings executes its mission, and where we focus on optimising the process of cross-sector collaboration.

To solve systemic barriers, we explore the mechanics of effective convening and bridge the gap between technical experts and executive decision-makers.

The theme also confronts legal and competitive challenges (e.g., antitrust risks) that prevent effective pre-competitive collaboration on shared goals.

How we help

We bring the right people together

Greenings is a not-for-profit organisation connecting senior leaders who have the practical power to accelerate sustainable transition—across sectors, borders, and traditional boundaries. Our members are influential decision-makers from government, business, finance, academia, regulation, and civil society, who wouldn’t typically collaborate.

We create lasting impact

Our members benefit immediately from powerful connections, practical tools, and clear insights—helping them turn sustainability commitments into measurable actions. We orchestrate collaboration and build robust frameworks, creating lasting change across sectors that continues long after individual projects are complete.

We provide a trusted space

As an independent, Swiss-based not-for-profit, Greenings creates a neutral and trusted environment for open collaboration. We understand diverse perspectives, balance different interests, and navigate political and economic realities to deliver sustainable results.

We turn challenges into action

We don’t just talk about sustainability—we make it happen. Our agile, proven Sprint methodology quickly transforms complex challenges into clear, practical solutions. By combining high-level strategic thinking with practical implementation, we move beyond discussion, orchestrating real-world action and delivering tangible outcomes.
